The problems existed in seal system of ammonia refrigeration compressor in ammonia plant are analyzed and the targeted retrofit to both the compressor and the seal system is implemented, i.e. the combined mechanical floating ring seal is changed to the double-end tandem dry gas seal. After the retrofit the running of the seal system of ammonia refrigeration compressor is stable with a good sealing effect and the product quality of liquid ammonia is guaranteed and both the fixed cost and maintenance cost reduced.
