A field test was done to reveal the dynamics of pencycuronresidue in cotton and soil, respectively. 100 kg cottonseeds were mixed with 75—112.5 g (a.i) pencycuron to prevent and cure cotton-seedling diseases. It was discovered that Pencycuron in soil was decomposed slowly with its half-lives were 7.8—10.1 days, while 90% of pencycuron was not decomposed after 35 days of treatment. The residue of pencycuron in cottonleaf、 cottonseed and soil samples were not detected at harvest period
