Tianwanhe Hydropower Stations uses impulse turbine speed-governing system with 6 needles and 6 deflectors. In its operation, the load adjustment speed is slow, with wide fluctuation margin of load in the process of nozzle needle cut-over. This thesis makes an exploration on the causes of such problems and discusses measures of improvement in order to upgrade the adjustment property of speed-governors to fulfill the demand of power system.
