When calculating the stress of the spread foundation and the strip foundation under the RC column,the diffusion of the column axial force should be considered,which makes the calculation reasonable. A formula which makes the calculation easier in practice is presented.The formula combines the two ways to calculate the spread foundation and the rigid foundation naturally.
