Permeability of coal is a most important parameter in controlling movement of CBM in coal reservoir. Studying of permeability of coal and relevant influencing factors and rules of their change is of important practical meaning in prospecting and mining and dynamic development of CBM. The paper investigates in de- tail the influence of many factors on permeability of coal reservoir, like cleavage and fracture system, type of macerals, degree of coal metamorphism, effective stress, shrinkage of matrix, Clinberg effect, etc.
