As a western mining city of our country,Liupanshui City is located at the kaster mountainous area in Southwest China,where there are complicated landforms,weak ecosystem and unstable environment.Because the mineral resources are mined excessively,the serious geological hazards gradually become obvious.In this paper the origin research and protection measures of the geological hazards are discussed in order to provide reference and guide for the management and urban construction of Liupanshui City.
