针对陕西省辣椒生产面临的主栽品种无法满足市场需求，辣椒产业比较效益下降，面积减少，病虫害有加重趋势等问题，提出了陕西省秦椒育种应把高产、优质专用、多抗、广适辣椒新品种选育作为主攻方向，培育高产专用型品种，并就杂种优势利用、种植比例、连作障碍等问题进行了探讨。
