英汉语言中都有大量与动物相关的习语，这些习语不仅是动物形象的代表，还具有丰富的文化内涵。研究动物习语所承载的文化信息，在跨文化交际及语言学习中有很大的实用价值。通过对英汉动物习语的分析，认为只有从其国家的历史背景、民族风情、风俗习惯和地理环境入手，将动物习语使用在恰当的语境中，才能避免产生歧义和误解。

Both English and Chinese are abundant in animal idioms, which are not only the symbols of animals, but rich in cultural connotations. To research the cultural connotations of animal idioms is of great value for cross-cultural communication and language learning. The paper presents the similarities and differences of culture in animal idioms. With the aim to comprehend animal idioms correctly, specific historical background, ethnic customs, geographical environment and appropriate context are analyzed to avoid ambiguity and misunderstanding.
