Clay plays a very important role as a key resource for the inorganic nanocomponent in the layered silicate-polymer nanocomposites.The compatibility of layered silicate with polymer has been studied by targeting individual polymer and the dispersion of inorganic layered silicate in polymer matrix has been improved.Industrial production of clay-polymer nanocomposite has started for the merits of these materials are gradually recognized in recent years.These includes PET based beer bottle,high temperature and strength engineering plastics applications in electric parts,antiUV,anti-weather-aging,flame-retardant,and even IR emitting fibers.Besides,clay nanocomposites with PC and PS render erasion resistant property.Clay PP nanocomposite exhibit temperature resistance.
