This paper briefly introduces the relationship between design wand structural security,describes the security points needing considering in civil design,and points out various factors for designers to consider including construction,utilization,maintenance,and investment and so on,and to correctly understand the mutual relation between economy and security,so as to guarantee the reliable and rational engineering design.
