The main advantages of utilizing microwave to heat reactions not only reduce energy consumption and save time, but also increase product yields and reduce side reaction compared to conventional synthetic methods. The principle and mechanism of microwave heating have been summarized and diversity of organic hydrolysis reactions under microwave been discussed in this paper. The prospects of microwave in industrialization are also presented as well.
