MicroRNA是一类在转录后水平上调控基因表达的内源性非编码小分子RNA.microRNA参与了固有免疫和适应性免疫的相关过程,在调节TLR信号通路,抗病毒免疫以及B细胞、T细胞发育和功能等多种免疫活动中发挥着重要的作用.一方面机体可以通过编码microBNA来调节在机体免疫细胞发育与分化及免疫系统功能方面发挥重要作用的基因,从而精细调节细胞对外界影响的反应,另一方面宿主细胞可通过编码microRNA来控制病原体基因的表达,从而干扰其发展,而病原体则反过来利用自身的microRNA或控制宿主microRNA的表达,进而逃避免疫系统的清除.对microRNA在免疫系统中作用的研究将有助于更清楚的认识免疫系统的作用机制,从而为靶向药物的研制以及人类疾病的防治提供一条新途径.

MicroRNAs are an endogenous class of small non-protein-coding RNAs that can regulate gene expression at the post-transcriptional levels. The recent studies demonstrate that microRNAs play an important role in regulating the development of immune cells and in modulating innate and adaptive immune responses such as signaling of TLRs, immunity of anti-virus, and development and function of T cells and B cells. MicroRNAs can guide the RNA-induced silencing complex to cognate target genes and repress target gene expression by either destabilizing target mRNAs or repressing their translation. MicroRNAs can also inhibit pathogen' s gene expression for immune defence. Research on the relationship between microRNAs and immune system will give us a better understanding of the mechanisms of immune response and in the future developing of novel therapeutics to target microRNAs.
