性别决定基因(sex-determining region of Y chromosome,sry)位于Y染色体短臂,编码一个包含与DNA结合的高泳动蛋白盒(high mobility group box,HMG - box)的转录因子.sry 编码的蛋白不仅对性别决定起关键作用,也在调节脑部活动中起很大作用.sry基因的突变可能造成SRY蛋白活性的改变,从而导致睾丸分化过程受阻或其他疾病.该文就sry基因的功能以及其相关疾病的研究进展作一综述.

Sex determining factor (SRY) is on the short arm of the Y chromosome,and encodes a transcription factor containing a DNA-binding domain characteristic of some high mobility group proteins (HMG box ).SRY protein plays important roles in initiating male sex determination and regulating motor behaviors in brain.The mutation within the sry gene may affect protein function,causing failure of testicular development and other diseases.This paper presented a review of the mechanism of sry gene and SRY-related diseases.
