Hyperbranched polymer has unique structure, excellent performance and easy preparation. So it is used for many applications. In this paper, the various synthetic methods of hyperbranched polymers are reviewed and compared. The good application prospects of hyperbranched polymers in coating, blending modification, controlled release of medicine,and nano-meter materials,etc. are elaborated. Meanwhile,the further development of hyperbranched polymer is also suggested.
