The mechanism of the ultrasonic irradiation accelerating degradation of chlorobenzene in aqueous solution and the factors that influence this reaction were studied. For this course the sound intensity, the pH value, the initial concentration of the dissolved gases in the solution and the applied free radical scavengers are included. The results show that the chlorobenzene mainly dissociates by thermolysis in cavitation bubble.
