An overall dock-type structure has been adopted for the bow structure of the lock under the gate in Laokou shipping hub project and based on 3rd-series mudstone.This is a very soft mudstone that is lack of loading capacity and subgrade prestress and exceeds standard deformation.The article introduces a method that use finite element program to perform 3-D analysis on the bow structure of the lock under the gate.The result proves the feasibility and optimism of this structure.
