With the wider use of secondary fibers and more adoption of neutral papermaking technologies,ASA has been more widely used due to its many unique advantages as an internal sizing agent.However,there are still many unsolved technical problems on ASA sizing,which limited its application.This paper introduces some characteristics of ASA,its sizing mechanism and some theories related to its emulsification,besides,the future of ASA is outlooked.
