A new high-voltage transmission-line microprocessor-based protection equipment is introduced in this article.The designation of this equipment is based on digital signal processor(DSP).A multi-CPU structure is adapted,and distance protection and zero-sequence(direction) protection are used as the main protection.At the same time,a variety of intelligent technology is applied in terms of software application,which greatly increases its performance of protection.Besides,the principal technical characteristics are detailed.Large number of trials and dynamic-simulation-test results show that the overall performance of this equipment is as fine as to meet the distance protection requirements of 110 kV lines.
