Scientists pay more attention to the exploring of microstructures and functions of water clusters, which has become one focus in this field recently. The progress, characteristics and methods of the investigation on water clusters are introduced, and those methods are compared. The way of far-infrared laser vibration-rotation-tunneling spectroscopy (FIR-VRT) is outlined in detail. The characteristics of molecular structure in supercooled water are explained briefly. A perspective in this research field is also discussed.
