During the construction of Beijing-soction of the Mid-route of the South-to-North Water Transfer Project, a large amount of high standard concrete aggregate is used, for which the requirement on the alkali-reactivity of the aggregate is quite strict. The analysis and research on alkali activity of the aggregate and the inhibition of its effectiveness for the construction of Beijing-section within the Mid-route of the South-w-North Water Transfer Project are described in detail herein, so as to provide some references for the similar projects in the days to come.
