The process flow of electroless nickel plating on surface of carbon fiber was introduced. The pretreatment includes acetone cleaning, roughening, sensitizing/activating, reducing, and dispersing. The surface morphology of carbon fiber was observed and the adhesion strength of coating was tested. The results showed that the pretreatment is very important to the coating quality. The coating obtained by this process is uniform and integral, and has good adhesion.
