在我国现阶段的学校管理实践过程中,教育行政部门或学校的许多管理者忽视了"教育以育人为本,以学生为主体;办学以人才为本,以教师为主体"的教育理念,不尊重教师的成长和学生的个性发展。管理者在管理的指导思想上注重和强调如何"管住"学生,强调微观过程管理,忽视充分调动学生自我管理的积极性。剖析我国现阶段学校管理实践中诸如教师管理、学生管理、课程管理及师生关系等方面实际存在的问题和不足,可以引出本研究的重点和关键,即"古为今用"的关键在于"用"。研究我国古代管理思想的目的,是为了继承和弘扬古代管理思想的精华,为建立、创新和发展中国特色的学校管理理论服务。

At present, in the progress of school management practice, many educational administration departments or the administrators of school in our country often neglect the idea of education which is that education should develop people foremost and be student-oriented, and school operation should cultivate talent foremost and be teacher-oriented. What's more, as they take so much power in they hands, they decide all of things but ignore the cultivation of teachers and the development of students' personalities. They value and focus on how to tame students, regardless of activating their self-management. Deeply illustrating and anatomizing the problems and deficiency in present education administration practice can dig out the core of this research that "Using" is the key of using ancient thought nowadays. The aim of researching Chinese ancient management thoughts is to inherit and enlarge,e their essence so as to build, innovate and develop school management thoughts with Chinese characteristics.
