利用矢量压缩的方法进行立体绘制,一个不足是根据码本生成的Pixmap图无法应用于立体投影中的每一点,为了克服这些缺点,提出了具有Shear Warp的矢量化算法.它充分发挥了矢量量化的压缩比,以及不需要解压即可直接进行体绘制的优点,有效地利用了具有Shear Warp的体绘制方法的快速和适合立体投影的优点,克服了基于矢量量化的绘制方法的不足,几乎能够达到实时的交互绘制,是一种基于网络的绘制模式.

Volume rendering based on vector quantization can take advantage of code book to render directly from the compressed data, while other approaches have to decompress the codes before rendering. New method can not only reduce the storage, but also speed up the rendering process. However, it reveals the short coming that the projected pixmap can not be widely used for every code index in the volume, especially in perspective projection. To overcome this defect, we introduced Shear Warp transformation into the rendering process that makes use of the full advantage of vector quantization with high compression ratio and direct rendering from the compressed data, at the same time inherits the merits of shear\|warp preprocessing with fast rendering speed and ability to deal with perspective projection. The approach proposed in the paper can get a nearly real\|time interactive speed and can be used to render the volume data over web.
