用问卷的形式对华北工学电子工程系和电子信息工程系132大学生进行调查.问卷包括信息需求、信息来源、上网查资料等问题.有效问卷为125份,达94.69%.问卷结果表明:受专业影响他们的信息需求多为技术性的,目前教材仍为主要信息来源,语言问题仍为影响学生查找资料的首要障碍,多数学生可以得到信息与信息需求有相当的差距.最后作者提出了加强和完善信息建设的建议.

The information needs and information sources of Students in North China University of Science and Technology, Taiyuan, Shanxi province were investigated using the questionnaire method. The questions covered include: information needs, information sources, use of internet as an information source, the effect of language as a barrier to their search for information and the use of the school library and its facilities. A total of 132 questionnaires were administered, 125 were returned representing a response rate of 94.69%. The findings showed that their information needs were technical based due to the nature of their course. Amongst others, textbooks were their most favoured source of information, which is not current or up to date. Most of them do search for information regarding their work on the Internet.Furthermore, English language was a major barrier to their search for information. The appraisal of the library facilities by the respondents was generally poor. For most of them their information needs were not satisfied and also not satisfied with the different sources of information available to them. The implications of the study was unequivocally stressed and finally recommendations as to how to redress the deficient information delivery system.
