This paper introduces the working principle of photoelectric converter and the fiber technology for data and signal transmission in 428XL system in brief. By the connection of media independent interface (MII) in the chip Am79C874 for the MAC--MAC signal interconnection, single fiber bidirectional transmission of MII interface signals can be achieved.
