The current situation of teaching method in colleges and universities in China was analyzed.The implementing discussion of teaching was propounded.The group discussion teaching method in the application of coatings technology teaching was expatiated through implementation process of group discussion,class discussion design and the organization of class discussion.And practical significance of the teaching method was summarized.
