TRIB3基因是2型糖尿病及糖尿病动脉粥样硬化的易感基因之一,其基因多态性Q84R与2型糖尿病有强相关性,这一结果在白种人中已得到证实.TRI3基因位于人染色体20p13-p12.2,蛋白质位称TRB3,该基因通过抑制丝氨酸/苏氨酸蛋白激酶Akt的磷酸化,抑制胰岛素信号传导,而在糖代谢中起重要作用.另外,有研究认为TRIB3基因可能调节胰腺β细胞功能.

By far the most spectacular development in the field of multifactorial type 2 diabetes genetics has been the identification of Tribbles homolog 3-Drosophila( TRIB3 ).It is one of the most important susceptibility gene of type 2 diabetes and atherosclerosis with diabetes.Common variants in the gene that encodes Q84R have been strongly associated with type 2 diabetes.The result has been proved in white groups,but the study of TRIB3 Q84R is just started in China.The TRIB3 gene is on chromosome 20p12.2-p13 and encodes protein TRB3.The gene plays an important role in glucose metabolism by suppressing the phosphorylation of serine-threonine kinase and the conduction of insulin signals.In addition,TRIB3 may regulate the function of pancreas β-cells.
