继人类基因组计划后，后基因组时代揭开了序幕，这是生命科学发展的新阶段。在后基因组时代，功能基因组与蛋白质组的研究将进一步揭示基因的表达调控规律和所表达蛋白质的生物学功能，深化生命科学认识。这将推动生物技术发展进入一个更精确、更高效设计和应用的新阶段。同时生物芯片技术对生命科学发展起了很大的推动作用。中药现代化研究，如何大力借鉴和引入这些新观念和新技术，发展完善自身理论体系，开创中药现代化研究的新局面?我们认为，可以把中药现代化研究与生命科学研究相联系，用生命科学尤其是后基因组时代的思路和方法来发展中药现代化。在此从中药化学和中药药理学两方面，展望了后基因组时代中药现代化的发展前景。

A new era in the development of life sciences—Post Genome Era— iscoming after the accomplishment of Human Genome Project. Researches on functional genome and protein group in the Post Genome Era will futher reveal the laws of gene expression and the biological functions of proteins determined by genes, and it will promote the accuracy and efficiency in the designation and application of biotechnology. At the same time Bio-chip offer great facilitations to the research of life sciences. How should we introduce the new ideas an technologies of life sciences into the Modernization of Traditional Chinese Medicine, so as to improve it's theory and initiate it's a new stage? We believe it is promising to link Modernization of Traditional Chinese Medicine with life sciences, and using the ideas an techniques of life sciences, especially those of the Post Genome Era, to augment the Modernization of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Based on the chemistry and pharmacology of Chinese medicinal materials, we look forward to the future of Modernization of the Traditional Chinese Medicine in the Post Genome Era.
