Capacitance is the most important parameters of the capacitor. By analyzing the equivalent capacitance of the parallel-plate capacitor filled with uniform or non-uniform dielectric, which is analogous to the series-parallel connection theories of resistance calculation. The calculation method is discussed and a differential element method to calculate the capacitance of a three-dimensional nonuniform medium is proposed.
