An algorithm of optimal sensor placement for bridge health monitor is discussed in this paper.The paper take the maximum off-diagonal element of Modal Assurance Criterion(MAC) matrix as objective function,give an algorithm based simulated annealing to optimize the sensor placement,the rule of selecting the parameters and concrete sequences of operation are also given in this paper.A numerical example is given to show that the method is feasible in optimal sensor placement for bridge health monitoring system.
