弱阻尼区间低频振荡是制约互联电网区域间输电能力提高的因素。传统阻尼控制器的输入主要为本地信号,不能很好地反映区间振荡模式,对区间振荡模式的阻尼效果很有限。虽然阻尼控制器应用日益广泛,但低频振荡现象仍时有发生。基于广域测量系统的广域阻尼控制是解决区间振荡问题的有效措施,其系统结构、建模、输入信号和控制地点的选择、网络通信延时、控制器设计等方面已经得到了深入研究。对世界范围内广域阻尼控制研究与工程应用进行了综述,并对世界上第1个投入实际工程运行的广域阻尼控制系统进行了介绍和评述。

Weakly damped inter-area oscillation is the bottleneck that restrics the increase of inter-area transmission capability of interconnected poewr grid. The input of traditional damping controller is local signal that cannot reflect the inter-area oscillation mode well, so is can play a very limited role in the suppression of inter-area oscillation. Although the application of damping controllers is increasingly widespread, low freqeucy oscillation still occurs frequently. The wide-area damping control based on wide-area measurement system (WAMS) is an effective measure to solve the problem of inter-area oscillation, and its system architecture, input signals, selection of the position to perform the control, communication delay of network and design of the controller are researched deeply. In this paper the research on wide-area damping control and its engineering application are reviewed, and the wide-area DC damping control system applied in China Southern Power Grid, which is the first wide-area damping control system put into operation in the world, is presented and commented.
