This paper introduced the pre-stressing reinforcement method for supporting structure of the radial gate. According to thrust power of the radial gate and internal force of the structure,the steel strands were arranged to be parallel with the gate thrust,with the anchored end embedded in the upper part of the pier. Thus,the applied force to the bearer was opposite to the thrust of the radial gate, decreasing the thrust partly. This method, with clear concept, specific force analysis, doesn't exert influence on integrity of the structure and was convenient for fast construction. So, it should have extensive application in reinforcement field.
