The development and application of new techniques like computer technique,microelectronic technology, laser technique, space technology and the progress in scientific technology of survey and mapping have provided new methods and means for technical progress in engineering surveying. The development of modern equipment for engineering surveying is illustrated and the application and development of equipment for surface surveying and space technology of GPS positioning technique in engineering surveying are described and predicted.
