By the force analysis on core barrel in hydro-hammer coring drilling process, this paper discusses the action mechanism of reducing core blockage in hydro-hammer drilling.In addition, the applicable stratum range for hydro-hammer drilling are clarified and the results achieved during the drilling operation for the hole WFSD -4 of Wenchuan earthquake fault scientific drilling project are introduced.
