目的观察大鼠5-羟色胺(5-HT)能轴突末梢与三叉神经运动核腹侧区(AVM)和上橄榄核背侧区(ADO)内三叉-丘脑投射神经元之间的联系.方法应用免疫组织化学和束路追踪技术.将四甲基罗达明结合的葡聚糖胺(TMR-DA)或麦芽凝集素结合的辣根过氧化物酶(WGA-HRP)注入大鼠单侧丘脑腹后内侧区(VPM)并对脑切片进行5-HT免疫组织化学染色.结果AVM和ADO中有5-HT能纤维和末梢及许多逆行标记细胞,电镜观察发现5-HT能轴突末梢与WGA-HRP标记神经元之间形成轴-体、轴-树突触联系.这些突触属对称或非对称型,但以对称型为主.结论本研究提示,5-HT在三叉神经本体觉中枢通路的三级神经元处对三叉神经本体觉信息可能发挥调控作用.

Objective To study the connections between the serotonergic terminals and the trigeminothalamic neurons in two trigeminal nuclei of the rat: the area ventral to the motor trigeminal nucleus(AVM)and the area dorsal to the su-
perior olivary nucleus(ADO).Methods Brain sections were processed immunocytochemically for serotonin(5-hydroxytryptamine,5-HT)following unilateral injection of tetramethylrhodamine-dextran amine(TMR-DA)or wheat germ agglutinin-horseradish peroxidase(WGA-HRP)into the ventroposteromedial nucleus(VPM)of the thalamus of each animal.Results The results showed the presence of many serotonergic fibers and terminals and retrogradely labeled neurons in AVM and ADO.With electron microscopy,the 5-HT-immunostained axonal profiles were observed to synapse upon the WGA-HRP-labeled neurons,forming axon-dendritic and axon-somatic synapses.The synapses were symmetric or asymmetric,with the former type being predominant.Conclusion The present study suggested that serotonin may modulate the trigeminal proprioceptive information at the level of the third-order neurons on the central trigeminal proprioceptive pathway.
