This paper expatiated on the necessity and specialty of asymmetrical current breaking, analyzing the related items about asymmetrical current breaking on the GB standard of synthetic testing. Introduction was made to the deficiency of using symmetrical current breaking synthetic testing (T100s) circuit or its shortcut method. Analysis was made to the transient recovery voltage of power frequency after arc extinguishing under the conditions of either major loop or minor loop with short-circuit current of larger direct component. This paper presented two kinds of equivalent, novel testing circuits, which are bears for more asymmetrical situations.
