英语应试教育忽视语言实践在教学中的主导功能,导致学生的实际英语能力普遍低下。应建立以能力培养为纲,以语言实践为主线,全面和谐地培养学生的综合英语素质的新教学体系。英语教学实验支持这种设想,证实用大量有计划的语言实践活动能够医治大学英语教学领域的顽症,烧开这壶久烧不开的温水。

The test-oriented English education tends to neglect the leading function of language practice in teaching. This results in relative inferiority of the learner's practical English competence. Therefore, an urgent need is a new English-teaching system with ability development as its guiding principle and language practice the main part of teaching in pursuit of an all-round and harmonious development of the learner's comprehensive English qualities. English teaching experiments have confirmed that lots of planned language practice can help get rid of the persistent ailment in the field of college English teaching.
