Hutchinson's equation is a reaction-diffusion model with a delay in the quadratic reaction term.For the case where initial conditions and periodic boundary conditions are supplied,we look at the use of central differences in space and the backward Euler's method in time.Our aim is to study the linear stability of the fixed points and investigate the impact of the delay on the long - term behavior of the numerical scheme.
