A method of realizing a reusable VXI system is presented. The system' s hardware architecture is based on PPC405G Pand FPGA, and the system uses a simple, common bus to communicate with functional modules. This architecture makes the system upgrading and function expansion has become very easy, and the design of interface circuit become simply. Based on this platform, developers can de-sign VXI product only need to clearly understand the interface definition, and without the need to spend a lot of time and effort to learn the CPU system and VXI bus. This design method has been successfully applied to product development. Application results show that the intro-duction of the design method greatly improves the development efficiency of VXI product.
