建立了简单树及其结构矩阵的概念，给出了结构矩阵的一般化描述。将结构矩阵应用于链烷烃色谱保留指数的预测。研究表明，预测结果良好，结构矩阵可推广到其他链状化合物的结构与物性的研究中。

The concept of simple tree and its structure matrix was established, and general description for structure matrix was given. The structure matrix was applied to forecast chromatograph retention index of alkane. And the forecast result is satisfying. The research results show that the structure matrix may be extended to the research between structure of other chain compounds and their physicochemical properties.
