In the training system of current mechanical major, there is an emphasi.s on theoretical knowledge but no on innovation and practical ability. This paper suggested that the training model should take the project - applied ability as the main training object to strengthen the construction of teacher team, optimize the course system, and revise the training plan of practicial and innovative ability, The aim is at training and improving the project -practical ability, innovative thought and "big project" thought of students, so as to satisfy the need of modem manufacturing industry.
