Nickel content in bright and pearl nickel plating baths are traditionally determined by EDTA titration, which has poor selectivity and brings environmental pollution. Spectrophotometric method was advanced in this article. The effect of measuring wave length, concentration of sulfuric acid and interfering elements on measured results was studied. The spectrophotometric method follows beer's law provided that nickel content is in the range of 0 to 200 mg, which is accurate and meets the demands of practice.
