The graft copolymerization of acrylamide (AM) and hydroxyethyl cellulose (HEC) initiated by ammonium potassium and hydrogen sulfite sodium in aqueous medium was synthesized under nitrogen atmosphere. The effect of various factors such as reaction time, reaction temperature and intiator amount were investigated in terms of intrinsic viscosity. The graft copolymer was characterized and analyzed by FT-IR, and the thermal stability was analyzed by TGA.
