    By analyzing the relative factors of distribution network losses, a method aiming at assessing the energy-saving potential is proposed in the paper. The content of the proposed method includes feeders replacing, high and low voltage reactive power compensation, feeders radium reducing, distribution transformers replacing, and loads power factor increasing, etc. Based on the current situation of the distribution network in Changan district, Dongguan, this paper introduces the assessment results of energy-saving potential of Changan, which has certain instructive meaning to the network planning and energy-saving solution of distribution systems.
