Oversized boulders are unavoidable in underground mining operations, which not only affect
normal mining production, but also lead to high secondary fragmentation cost. An innovative water
blasting-based rock breaker has been successfully developed for this purpose in which water is used as
a medium. Field application indicates that it is a low cost and highly efficient new breaking device for
over-sized boulders, which achieves good fragmentation with excellent safety performance , causing
no flying rocks or bazardous fumes.
