The research status on microstructure and coating transition of GA coatings were reviewed.Inhibition layer with respect to formation,constitution,orientation relationship between inhibition layer and substrate was mentioned.In addition.The formation of Fe-Zn phases,crystal configuration and so on in the GA coatings were summarized.Finally,the microstructure transition of three typical GA coatings during alloying were introduced.
