In this paper, the mechanism of nitrogen removal in the constructed wetland, together with the effects of organic carbon availability, dissolved oxygen, temperature, pH on the nitrogen removal was surmarized. In addition, the research prospects of the constructed wetland to treat wastewater with high nitrogen and low carbon contents were also proposed.
