诗意,是中国文学的重要表征.中国古典小说作为以叙事为主的文学体裁,也深深地渗透了诗情画意.追寻中国古典小说的诗化之源,我们会发现,上古神话、诸子散文及赋与小说的叙事和诗化有着千丝万缕的联系.多种文体的审美意识的交杂、言说的诗意与诗意的言说虽然是后来的文人小说的重要表征,但在早期的诸子散文、神话与赋的表达中,已经有了极为清晰的踪迹.这些文体中的相当部分作品,已经具备了后来小说诗化表达的因子.而作为中国古典小说诗化的滥觞,它们的创作,对后世小说的诗化意味产生了深远影响.

Poetry has been a significant token of the Chinese literature, as is pervasive in the literary form of classic novels mainly characterized by narration. Tracing the poetic source of Chinese classic novels, we'll find that the antediluvian mythos, the prose and Fu of the Pre-Qin philosophers and scholars have played an essential role in the development of poetry and narrative of Chinese classic novels. The blending of manifold varieties of literary genres and aesthetic consciousness as well as the narrative poetry and poetic narrative, despite its manifestation as an important token in later fiction, has distinguished itself in the expressive means of the early Pre-Qin prose, mythology and odes, the literary creation of a great many works of which, with the verve of poetic expression to be found in later fiction, has exerted a profound influence in the poetic sense of the aftertime novels, as the origin of poetry in classic Chinese novels.
