The experimental techniques of dynamic fracture toughness based on Hopkinson bar technique were summarized.Some new improvements on the technique such as pulse shaping technique and force transducer were introduced.The methods of calculating dynamic stress intensity factor and determining crack-initiation time were generalized briefly.The viewpoint of future development of dynamic fracture toughness was proposed.
