通过对紫萍常见营养成分的分析，可知紫萍富含18种氨基酸，其药效氨基酸含量占总氨基酸的67．7％，紫萍蛋白质是质量很好的蛋白质；以赖氨酸计的紫萍氨基酸模式理想，它是畜禽和水产动物饲料蛋白质、微量元素等营养成分的有益补充；紫萍吸收氮磷等有机污染物能力强，易回收，是真正高效、安全、绿色的环境净化剂。
